Rev. Douglas B. Sands,
CEO & Founder of Doug Sands Ministries
The Rev. Dr. Douglas Sands
has created Doug Sands Ministries to promote the ministry of Jesus Christ
to share love, achieve justice, and secure the blessings of prosperity
for those in need. There are four parts to his ministry. Each ministry
holds great promise that Christ will be glorified, that lives will be
changed, and that society will be improved. These four ministries are
the Nonviolent Disciples of Jesus Christ, Volunteers In Christian Evangelism
(V.I.C.E.), Institute On Racism In The Church, and Crossover Priests Crusade.
The Rev. Dr. Douglas Sands’ vision is to reconnect the church community
with the business community. "I want the church to understand that
they have a brighter future with the entrepreneurial community. The bridging
together with minority business people can make things healthier within
the church community," says Rev. Sands. He has witnessed the outsourcing
of many activities and projects done in churches even when the resources
are in the congregation. "There are accountants, publishers, builders,
and any other profession already in our communities," states Rev.
Sands. Doug Sands Ministries has incorporated business ventures within
each ministry. Here is a broad view of the vision and the mission of Rev.
Dr. Douglas Sands:
1) Nonviolent Disciples of Jesus Christ - This ministry promotes love
by turning back the rising tide of violence with the power of love. Their
motto of "Love or Perish" attacks the violence of white supremacy
racism, injustice, and self-hatred. Doug Sands Ministries has created
bumper stickers as a business venture.
2) Volunteers In Christian Evangelism (V.I.C.E.) - This ministry promotes
volunteering your time to help someone in need. The message is that everybody
can help somebody. He has designed blue denim shirts to promote this business
venture.
3) Institute On Racism In The Church - This ministry brings awareness
to the leaven of privilege mixed with power. Rev. Sands’ self-published
book, Insubordination, confronts the harsh realities of white supremacy
racism in the church. A reprint of this book will be coming out in January
2005.
4) Crossover Priests Crusade - This ministry’s motto, "Save
the Little Black Church," resonates to many small churches that have
not grown or is on the brink of extinction. Rev. Sands is building a network
through his many speaking engagements.
