Making a Statement: Fall Fashion 2005
The end of our beloved
summer has ended. Being 100%lady, I consider it not only a privilege,
but some what a priority for us as women to turn up the heat just a notch.
Fortunately, fashion designers were inspired accordingly.
This Fall the concept
to keep in mind is rather simple. The word to take into consideration
in all of your Fall 2005 Fashion ventures is "major". For fashion
designers are "rocking the boat" on runways worldwide in a major
way. This Fall it’s all about a statement being made. Major indeed-we’re
speaking of hair, clothing, color, pattern-you name it. The theme for
this Fall simply stated is "The bigger the better". (and no
we are not speaking of our beloved super-sized combos at Wendys’,
dearest lol) It’s all about in your face glamour. However, too much
of anything can easily transition from the " Bold & the Beautiful"
to the "Bold & the Bizarre." So please refrain from going
"Tammy Fae" on me. Think old school Hollywood meets Old World
Europe. That’s the effect that you want to capture. This Fall, there’s
a look for everyone. So, whatever your individual statement may be, make
sure that you are certain to make it in a major way!
As stated previously,
this Fall "the bigger" is taking over in a major way. Presently,
I have to break it to you one more time; size does matter indeed. Everything
this season is big skirts, big pants, and big coats. I’m certain
many of you would agree with me in saying that life is grand. Well, so
are the fashions this fall. It’s an enchantingly fresh new look
straight from the runways. So indulge in the new airy blouson skirts.
I absolutely adore them! Paired with a form-fitting tank, this is the
ideal combination. Slouchy, wide-legged pleated trousers paired with mega-high
stilettos is also an ideal pair. The options are endless.
After decades of being
nearly banded, metallic has made an extreme comeback. As we all know,
metallic can be a very temperamental piece thus it must be worn with care,
but hey why not? This Fall is all about statement and if metallic doesn’t
speak, I don’t know what will. Designers like Dolce & Gabanna
and Luis Vuitton are going heavy metal all the way. Faux fur is also another
popular item spotted on the catwalks this season. Faux fur is always fun.
It definitely contributes to the old school Hollywood theme. Once again,
velvet and leather are also making yet another comeback. Indeed, it’s
easy to get caught up in all of these fun trends, but again, remember
too much of anything is too much indeed. To effectively wear a standout
trend avoid outfit overkill. Be certain to choose just one potent piece
at a time when pulling together an ensemble.
As we are well aware of-accessories
can either make or break an ensemble. Well, the idea of accessories this
Fall are to match the attitude of apparel. Vuitton, Prada, Chloe’,
Celine, Dolce & Gabanna are indulgent in peep toe, round toe, platforms,
and skins just to name a few. The variety is absolutely unbelievable!...
although I must say the boots this fall are predominately rounder than
times past whether they be lace up, slouchy, flat, or stacked. Sling backs,
passionate platforms, and wanton wedges are also gracing the catwalk.
Hats, skinny scarves and belts worn at the waist or loose at the hips.
Speaking of belts, a funky wide belt cinched at the waist securing a boxy
sweater says "fashionista". Flamboyant patterns and adventurous
adornments like metal grommets can be found on some of the hottest handbag
collections this season. They’re designed in some of the most unique
shapes with soft shearing trim, and Tony tweed textures. The bags this
season are guaranteed to grab attention. Concerning neckwear, even the
necklaces are huge! The longer the necklace the more stylish. I recommend
looping an extremely long necklace over a couple times to capture a layered
effect. As far as accessories are concerned-it's like a British 1960’s
invasion with pageboy caps, brimmed or furry hats, low slung belts and
skinny scarves. In fact, Hollywood celebrities are indulgent in the latest
trend " Tattoo Hat’s". If you’re like me and allergic
to pain this is the ultimate solution for you. Fun, Fun, Fun!
Enough said, whether you
be poetic, into "heavy metal", Russian inspired, equestrian-there
is a statement for you. So go out there and make your statement known,
and remember sometimes when spoken softly one can grab attention millions
time more than someone screaming at the top of their lungs. So speak loud,
and don’t be afraid. Women are doing just that and making history.
However, just be certain to do it in a soft, feminine, and sultry way.
You know the way that only a true lady can. Indulge!
SkinCare
The objective of this article
is to further educate you to the greatest of my extent on how
to better care for indeed the most important part of your wardrobe,
and no we are not speaking of pink fishnets, stilettos or the
latest Luis Vuitton bag. (Although I do love these things dearly
lol) We are the talking about the beautiful covering of your flesh
and bones. Yes, ladies we are speaking of the skin you awake,
sleep, live and flaunt in. The importance of skincare too often
is neglected. Too often taking care of ourselves is considered
a luxury when in fact it should be considered a priority. In my
opinion it should be at the top of our list of priorities. Like
I always say how can you continue giving to others if you fail
to nurture the source? My observation is you must understand to
some degree the importance of skincare. Otherwise, you might not
have taken the initiative to read this article. The basis of a
proper skincare program is to have the foundation of a personalized
skincare regimen that is suitable to your individual needs, and
in this article my goal is to help you develop just that.
Questions
to ask when putting together a proper skincare regimen:
#1 What is your skin type? There
are three classifications of skin type categories, and they are
Dry, Oily and Combination. The best way to find out your skin
type is to wash your face and pat dry. Pay attention to detail.
How does your skin feel after cleansing? For example, if your
face feels entirely dry then you are dry. If your skin feels oily
in the T-zone, but dry on your facial cheeks then you are combination,
if your skin feels oily all over following cleansing you are oily.
#2 What
do you want your skincare products to do for you?
In example do you have flaky skin or do you need
oil-control products? Are you focused on anti-aging/age reversing
products? Are you prone to blackheads or perhaps, do you have
large pores and want them minimized? Knowing what you want in
a product will save you a lot of drama.
#3 What
is your History? Do you have any
allergic reactions to certain ingredients in cosmetic items?
Are you in need of a product that is anti-retinal or hypoallergenic?
Everyone will have different needs and will not necessarily have
the same reaction to a product. If you’ve made the mistake
of using products that caused an allergic reaction, don’t
allow history to repeat itself. Ladies, let us learn from our
mistakes.
# 4 What
is my budget? What
are you willing to invest into your skincare? How much money are
you able to spend? On any
budget, there are affordable ways to give your skin the absolute
best, but being realistic in your spending is a must.
*Now that we’ve gotten
that out of the way, there are four basic steps to proper skincare
and they go as do they follow: Cleanse, Repair, Moisturizer, and
an eye cream comes highly recommended.
CLEANSING:
Too many women neglect cleansing properly particularly when they
really need to, in the morning, and before they go to bed. Absolute
and total removal of makeup before bed is imperative. Studies
show that women that don’t properly remove their makeup
before bed are more likely to get black heads and dry skin patches.
So ladies keep in mind to cleanse always. In picking your cleanser,
ask yourself the questions above. Mac has a very popular cleanser
that is oil-free and for all skin types called Cleanse off oil
that markets at $18.50. This cleanser is good also for long wearing
and waterproof makeup removal. I absolutely adore Chanel’s
Nourishing Cleansing Cream rinse-off makeup remover marketing
at $35.00, and Fashion fair also has an excellent skincare cleansing
line called Facial Shampoo that markets at a similar rate, but
if that is outside of your budget there are alternative options
such as Neutrogena’s’ sensitive skincare solutions
cleansing line and Loreal has also an excellent cleansing line
that markets somewhat at a cheaper rate. Also, a toner to follow
your cleanser comes highly recommended, although it is not mandatory.
REPAIR:
You may ask what’s a repair product? Well, it’s exactly
what it sounds like. It is a product that usually "repairs"
any past damage that was made to your skin. There are even repair
products that can reverse aging and prevent future signs of aging.
You may have large pores or dry skin that needs hydration. You
may have acne prone skin or an uneven rough skin tone. Contrary
to what the issue is there is usually a product that is focused
on that particular issue directly. This product category is the
category in which question #2 comes greatly into play. "What
do you want your product to do for you?" Some products tend
to your needs immediately and some have long term results. CHANEL
has a blemish control cream that markets at $28.50, and Philosophy
has an anti-aging/anti-acne product called "Hope in a bottle"
that markets at $35.00. One of my favorite repair items is Estee
Lauder’s Idealist skin refinisher beginning at a marketing
price of $49.00. Ideal ist paired with Idealist Micro-D ultimately
work together to refinish your skin to the max thus providing
you with a brighter skin tone. This is one product in which you
see immediate, as well as long term results. As far as repair
items are concerned, I say educate yourself. The possibilities
are endless.
Moisturize: I’ll keep it short and sweet in one word…Mandatory!
Having a daily moisturizer is imperative to your skincare’s
well-being. My recommendation in picking a moisturizer is that
again you consider all of the questions above, and that you also
seek out a moisturizer that has at least Spf 15 in it. The importance
of Spf is just as important in the winter months as it is in the
summer. Some people don’t realize that your damage ability
is just as great in the winter as it is in the summer. Did you
know that the sun is a major factor in your aging ability? Were
you aware of the fact that 80% of your aging is environmental
and that only 20% of you’re aging is chronological thus
meaning that 80% of your aging is controllable. Need I say more?
Ladies contrary to what your ethnicity may be Spf is essential.
Wear Spf always! There are even moisturizers that tend to different
needs. I’ve been hearing great things about CHANEL’S
Hydramax moisturizing Boost Cream out of their Precision line
that markets at $50.00. Mac also has an excellent moisturizer
called Day Light moisturizer Spf 15 marketing at $23.50. Lancôme
also happens to have a moisturizer that is suitable for all skintypes
called Aqua Fusion cream that is lightweight and oil free and
it markets at $34.00. Clinique and Neutrogena are also noted for
having effective moisturizers. As I am certain you can see the
possibilities are endless.
Eye Cream: Your eye area is indeed
the most sensitive area on your face. Many make the mistake of
thinking all they need is one moisturizer for the entire face,
but considering the fact that your eye area is ultra-sensitive
it requires different needs. Over time, using the same moisturizer
that you use for your face will cause your skin to pull downward
thus causing your skin around your eye-area to be more likely
to wrinkle at an earlier stage, and I don’t believe there
are too many women in a great hurry to age. In picking your eye
cream consider all factors concerning your needs. You may want
it to lift. You may want it to firm. You may want it to be gentle
for sensitive skin. Whatever your needs are take them into consideration
in confidence that there is an eye cream out there suitable to
your needs. Lancôme also has an eye cream that targets dark
under eye circles that markets $47.00 and Philosophy has a smooth
moisturizer called "Eye believe" that cost $27.50.
Well, my prayer is that from this article you have obtained the
proper information to help you on your journey to skincare success.
I would even recommend taking this article with you when you go
out shopping. Even just the questions above will assist you in
making the proper skincare decisions suitable for your desires
as well as your needs. My advice always is to stay educated also
as the trends and product market is rapidly changing. Many new
products are soon to hit the market as we journey on in this country
that will have multiple benefits. Scientific innovations are being
made as we speak so stay in "The Know". Read your favorite
informative magazines those including Essence, Cosmopolitan, Allure,
Ebony, and O magazine, and oh yes in the process of your skincare
journey be sure to take out the time to enjoy yourself as it can
also be extremely enjoyable and indeed a lot of fun. Go to your
local Nordstrom’s and check out the large variety of counters
the re including Clarin’s, Mac, Lancôme, Philosophy,
Jack’s girl, Chanel, and Bobby Brown, as the possibilities
are endless. Experiment and have total fun in the process. Don’t
be afraid to approach that skincare consultant and ask questions.
Remember that knowledge is power indeed. Also if you have any
