Maryland-based
online book designer enters African-American Children’s
Book Industry
Royce L. Sampson, CEO/President of Royce Enterprises, Inc.,
a management firm that’s home-based in Maryland supports
his two sons decision to enter the children’s book
market. "I think this is a good opportunity for this
family-owned company to spread its wings", says Royce.
"African-American authors are looking for new venues
to make good money, and this is a niche market for them
and us."
Rock Publications was first established as a newspaper publisher,
and later ventured into book designing in the mid 90’s
for small independent authors. In 2004, they published their
newspaper, The Rock, on-line to reach more African-American
entrepreneurs, and book authors.
"We have very talented individuals that work with us,
and we want to explore more publishing and designing ventures,"
says Mike Sampson. "Our company was designed to support
African-American writers, and we take good care of them.
We would love to see some of our self-published fiction
writers try writing for children.
"We also encourage our African-American community to
invest their money in purchasing children’s books.
At an early age children spend time playing video games
when it would be great to see them reading books that may
reflect their lives and experiences," says Jerry Royce.
